Match Sheets are Going Digital in 2026!

SSFA Steps into the Digital Era for 2026 Season

Have you heard the news?

In 2026, the Sutherland Shire Football Association will officially step into the digital era, introducing Online Match Sheets and Digital ID Cards across all competitions (including Mini roos).

To give some perspective, in 2025 alone across the Sutherland Shire:

  • 12,336 games were played meaning 12,336 paper match sheets all signed by managers

  • Over 14,500 plastic ID cards printed and distributed

Matchday Management Prior to 2026

Did you know that after every weekend, one of your club committee members had to personally deliver all match sheets to the SSFA office before 8am Monday, along with any suspended players’ ID cards? They would then return on Thursday to collect the cards for players coming off suspension ahead of the weekend’s matches.

This process has served us well for many years, but as competitions continue to grow, advances in technology are evident, and as people’s work and family commitments evolve, it’s time to make things easier, faster, and more sustainable.

Going digital marks a major step forward in sustainability, efficiency, and accuracy for everyone involved. Many of you are already familiar with SSF MyCompApp, where you check your fixtures, match times, and results. The app experience is getting even better, with the launch of Digital online Match Sheets and Digital ID Cards directly inside MyCompApp.

What Coaches and Managers Need to Know

To make this transition as smooth as possible, SSFA is working closely with all member clubs.

Here are a few key points to prepare for 2026:

  • Register early: Coaches and managers must be registered in PlayFootball prior to Round 1.

  • Working with Children Check: A valid WWCC is required at the time of registration. It is time now to organise your WWC

  • Access to Match Sheets & ID Cards: Only registered coaches and managers will have access to these features in the app.

Wherever possible, teams are encouraged to register two managers to ensure match sheet access for every game.

So Why Now?

The introduction of digital match sheets and ID cards is a major step toward modernising the football experience in the Sutherland Shire. But you might be thinking, “Why hasn’t this happened already?” and that’s a fair question. The truth is, this shift has been five years in the making, ensuring that our competition management system is not only modern, but also fit for purpose, simple, reliable, and easy for every coach and manager to use.

This innovation not only streamlines matchday management, but also reduces our environmental footprint, saving the equivalent of around 1.5 trees in paper every season from match sheets alone, not even considering the plastic used to print ID cards.

Over the coming months SSFA will continue to provide information to the community around how to effectively and efficiently utilise the SSF myCompApp.

In the meantime, if you haven’t already downloaded the app visit your App store and search: SSF MyCompApp
