The MiniRoos Coaches Lab is designed to help coaches create game-based environments where players can explore, make decisions, and develop as individuals. By improving how coaches facilitate sessions and respond to player needs, we enhance the experience for every child playing football across the Shire.
It’s also about building connections across our local coaching community. Observing sessions, asking questions, and reflecting together creates a shared learning environment that strengthens coaches and the football ecosystem within the Sutherland Shire.
Christopher Gallo, Head of Football Development at the Sutherland Shire Football Association, believes initiatives like the MiniRoos Coaches Lab play an important role in strengthening the local football environment. Gallo said the initiative is also about building stronger connections across the local coaching community.
“When coaches come together to observe sessions, ask questions and reflect on what they are seeing, it creates a shared learning environment. That is incredibly valuable for the ongoing growth of our coaches and the broader football ecosystem within the Sutherland Shire. Programs like the MiniRoos Coaches Lab help us support coaches at the grassroots level, which is where the foundations of player development and lifelong participation in football are built.”
