Art of Coaching - Intervention Methods

Sharpen the Way You Coach in the Moment: Intervention Methods

Knowing what to say is only half of it. Knowing when to say it, and when to stay quiet, is what separates a session that develops players from one that just fills time.

Delivered in conjunction with Sutherland Shire Football Association and FNSW, this two hour workshop breaks down the intervention methods every coach has at their disposal and when each one actually works. You will look at how and when to stop a session, how to coach without killing the flow of play, and how to use questioning so players arrive at the answer themselves.

Practical, hands on, and built around real session scenarios rather than theory. You will leave with methods you can use at your next training night. This workshop is a Football NSW Coach Approved workshop and carries 2 CPD hours.

What You'll Learn:

- The main intervention methods and when each one is the right choice
- How to run a freeze, an in play and an on the run intervention properly
- Using questioning to get players thinking instead of just listening
- How to keep interventions short, clear and worth stopping for
